A Texas Multi-Instrumentalist Runs Ten Songs From Seaside Folk to a Closing Title Track

Track four is the one to start with. David Moore and Westridge share the credit on You, the fourth song on Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, with Jim Patterson. That is also where the album turns into a rock record for close to five minutes. The band’s own site names James Masters Patterson as Moore’s late friend, writing partner and guitarist. The 2026 album A Wink Is As Good As A Nod To A Blind Mule is a tribute to him.

David Moore’s music is in the playlist below, and the David Moore profile gathers the full run of coverage. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow reached MusicRoots.News through PopHits.Co Music Charts, which verifies independent artists and places their releases across its network of music news titles. Listen through, then read on.

The Hook of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow Starts With a Beach Escape Fantasy in Our Trip In The Sun

David Moore and Westridge released the album on 8 May 2023, ten songs over 42 minutes. The band’s site describes Moore as a Texas multi-instrumentalist who sings and plays guitar, bass, drums, harmonica and keyboards. Overall, the record sounds like the work of one writer moving between rooms.

The first room is a beach. Music Arena GH, writing on 17 May 2023, described the opener, Our Trip In The Sun, as a fun and emotional ballad. In its reading, the song is a man’s fantasy of the perfect beach escape. Indieoclock, the Brazilian blog, heard it on 5 June 2023 as light folk rock. Its fresh sounds, the blog wrote, put the listener in the middle of nature. Inspotmusic also picked the song for its Daily Discovery list of ten tracks.

That is a sensible hook for an album built on folk forms. A daydream is easy to share. The opener also sets out the album’s terms early. Acoustic guitars and a warm lead vocal carry a story simple enough to follow on first play.

The Lyric

The words on this record deal in time and memory, and the title tells you as much. Music Arena GH heard an album of storytelling that moves through time and emotion. Echoes of the 1960s, in its account, run into the present-day indie scene. Finally, the title track gathers that idea into three short words. Yesterday, today and tomorrow are the three places a songwriter can stand, and Moore uses all of them.

The David Moore Song Credited With Jim Patterson

You is the album’s clearest change of gear. Indieoclock called it a live rock song with prominent, striking guitar. To the blog, it was a piece of true rock in the middle of a folk album. Coming right after the experimental Christine, it is the moment the record raises its voice. Knowing who shares the credit gives the song extra weight now, years after the band recorded it.

The Running Order of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow Moves From Folk to Country, Synths and Rock

The craft here is mostly in the sequencing. The first five songs each try a different arrangement, and Indieoclock walked through them one by one. Our Trip In The Sun opens in light folk rock. All I Ask follows with country energy, strong beats and what the blog called an intelligent structure. Christine then brings synthesisers and experimental arrangements into the folk frame.

After that, You turns to rock, and Down By The Sea returns to folk. Indieoclock heard that fifth song as a turn inward, a track that invites the listener into their own thoughts. The pattern is deliberate. A return to the folk base follows each change of style, so the album widens without losing its centre.

In contrast, the second half stretches out. The Lemming Song, track six, is the longest piece on the record at six minutes and 18 seconds. Rhyme Or Reason, Worldly Girl and Evil Weed follow. Then the title track closes the album at three minutes and 23 seconds. Ending on a song of that length leaves the album on its central idea rather than on a big finish.

Where the David Moore Record Sits Now

David Moore and Westridge have kept working since. A Wink Is As Good As A Nod To A Blind Mule arrived on 24 August 2026. It is a 13-track tribute to James Masters Patterson. Heard after that tribute, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow reads as part of a longer partnership. You is still its most direct document. Moore also talked the album through on camera, in a video interview for SuperPop.TV.

Who This David Moore and Westridge Album Is For

The album suits listeners who like Americana with room for country, folk and rock in one sitting. Fans of The Band will know the shared-room feel of Music from Big Pink from 1968. On that record, country, folk and rock sat in the same arrangements. Listeners who love Tom Petty‘s Wildflowers from 1994 will hear a similar balance of acoustic songwriting and rock bite. Anyone drawn to Gram Parsons and the country rock of GP in 1973 will recognise the pull between both traditions.

Start with Our Trip In The Sun. Then play the album in order through to You, so the change of gear lands as intended.

From the MusicRoots.News Curator Team: “This is a record that rewards the running order. The first five songs each try a different room: folk, country, synths, rock and folk again. The title track at the end is short on purpose. It is a songwriter sequencing an album rather than collecting songs.”

Stream Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow on Spotify and follow David Moore and Westridge on Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, SoundCloud, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and X. Releases and news are on the official website.
